Watermelon Cordial

Watermelon Cordial is something that I have been wanting to try but thought it would be too much work to prep the watermelon. Well, my son Talon wanted watermelon so I decided to make a couple jars sense I was going through the trouble anyway. All I did was cube the watermelon and stuffed the quart jar full then added vodka. I was afraid to add sugar because it was a very sweet watermelon and I didn't want it to be too sweet. Plus, I can always add sugar later.

So, when do we get to hear how these turned out? I've never attempted making a cordial. We did experiment with wine a little. I'd rather buy it. :) Have you tried any of the recipes on

I prefer a cordial or infusion like the ones I list. In most cases they taste just like you are biting into the fruit and you can barely taste the alcohol in them. Also, they have a kick. Wines are on the "to learn" list, as well as mead and stout, but I do not have the proper set up to do any of those. I let cordials sit for a minimum of 2 months. After that time it I cant stand it anymore and have to at least taste test. Most times the taste test is good enough that I cant help but pass it around. The longer it sets the better it is though.
